Today, leisurely drive to Agra, the city of the world-famous Taj Mahal. En route visit Sikandra Tomb – 4 Kms from Agra is the mausoleum of Akbar. Construction of this beautiful monument was started by Akbar himself. This structure is a perfect blend of Hindu, Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, Jain motifs. This morning, proceed to visit Taj Mahal. Built by Shah Jahan as an eternal symbol of his love for his favourite wife Mumtaz Mahal, The Taj Mahal is one of the great architectural wonders of the world. The Taj changes colour depending on the time of day, and it is recommended that you witness this by visiting in the morning or evening. (Friday Closed) Later proceed to visit the Agra fort, which is built in red sandstone and has magnificent palaces, halls of public and private audience and beautiful gardens. Built by Emperor Akbar on the west bank of the Yamuna, Agra Fort first took shape between 1565 and 1573 and thereafter structures within it were added by successive emperors. Day 5: Agra - Jaipur (Approx../5-6 hrs) Today, leisurely drive to Jaipur, the pink city of India. Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri, the crowning glory of Emperor Akbar's architectural legacy. Built in red sandstone, its numerous palaces, halls, and structures exemplify the creativity of erstwhile Mughal emperors. On arrival, check – in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. This morning drive just 30 minutes north of the city to explore Jaipur’s Amber Fort-Palace. An elephant ride will help you ascend to this hilltop fort (Elephants ride are subject to availability). Alternatively, you could choose to walk or drive up to the fort. This afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Jaipur, known as the “Pink City” for the rosy hue of its sandstone buildings. This afternoon, visit the City Palace complex with its museums and Jantar Mantar, the ancient astronomical observatory. Drive past Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), built in the 18th century. This palace with its innumerable windows and screened balconies was especially built for the royal women to view the city and processions from behind their purdahs.
